Alexandra Valeria Botez (born September 24, 1995) is an American-Canadian chess player and commentator, Twitch streamer, and YouTuber. She is a five-time Canadian National Girls Champion and won the U.S. Girls Nationals at age 15. Botez achieved her highest FIDE Elo rating of 2092 in March 2016 and holds the title of Woman FIDE Master.
She began streaming online chess content in 2016 while attending Stanford University. Alexandra manages the BotezLive Twitch and YouTube channels with her younger sister Andrea, with over 900,000 followers. Botez has spoken publicly about sexism and misogyny in tournament chess and advocates for greater gender diversity. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Susan Polgar Foundation, a nonprofit promoting gender diversity in chess through scholarships and prizes.
