Amanda Ammann was born on January 8, 1987, in Uzwil, Canton of St. Gallen. She was crowned Miss Switzerland on October 13, 2007.
At the time of her win, Ammann lived in Lausanne and studied International Relations in Geneva, completing her bachelor's degree in 2010. She then pursued a master's degree in International Affairs and Governance at the University of St. Gallen, which she obtained in 2013. Prior to that, she completed her Matura at Gymnasium Friedberg in Gossau SG, attended Highland Oaks Middle School in Miami, and completed an internship in Madrid.
