Amanda Anisimova, born on August 31, 2001, in Freehold Township, New Jersey, is an American tennis player. She turned professional in 2016 and quickly rose in the WTA world rankings.
Her breakthrough came in 2019 at the French Open, where she reached the semifinals at age 17, defeating defending champion Simona Halep. Anisimova also won WTA Tour tournaments, including the 2019 Copa Colsanitas in Bogotá. With her powerful baseline game, she reached a career high within the top 25 in the world and represented the USA in international competitions.
