Amelia Vega Horford (born November 7, 1984, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a Dominican actress, singer, model, and beauty queen. She was the first Dominican woman to be named Miss Universe in 2003 and was the youngest winner since 1994 at age 18. She stands 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m) tall.
Her father, Otto Vega Rasuk, is a general medical practitioner with offices in New York City and Miami. Her mother, Patricia Polanco Álvarez, is a licensed pilot and represented the Dominican Republic at the Miss World pageant in 1980. Amelia Vega is the niece-in-law of Grammy Award–winning singer Juan Luis Guerra and is married to NBA player Al Horford. She graduated from Barbizon Modeling and Acting School in Santo Domingo.
