Bipasha Basu (born 7 January 1979), also known as Bipasha Basu Singh Grover, is an Indian model and actress who primarily appears in Hindi films. She is known for her work in thriller and horror genres and is recognized as one of Bollywood's highest-paid actresses and popular celebrities.
After a career as a fashion model, Basu debuted in film with a supporting role in Ajnabee (2001), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Her first lead role was in the horror film Raaz (2002), earning a Filmfare Best Actress nomination. She appeared in successful films such as No Entry (2005), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Dhoom 2 (2006), and Race (2008). Basu received critical praise for Apaharan (2005), Corporate (2006), and Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008). She is often called "Bollywood's Scream Queen" for her contributions to horror cinema in India.
