Carice Anouk van Houten, born 5 September 1976, is a Dutch actress and singer. She is known for playing the lead in Black Book (2006), the most commercially successful Dutch film to date, and Melisandre in the TV series Game of Thrones since 2012.
Internationally, she is recognized for English-language films such as Valkyrie (2008), Repo Men (2010), and Black Death (2010).
