Carol Alt (born December 1, 1960, in East Williston, Long Island, New York) is an American model and actress. She was discovered in 1980 during her first year at Hofstra University while working as a waitress. That same year, she appeared on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar and in 1982 on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Alt was married to hockey player Ron Greschner from November 2, 1983, until their divorce in 1996. Since 2002, she has been in a relationship with Alexei Valeryevich Yashin, a hockey player for SKA Saint Petersburg who is 13 years her junior. She has launched product lines, published books including "Eating In The Raw," released fitness videos, and pursued acting roles, such as playing biologists Lori Dale in "Snakehead" and Christine Brown in "Swarmed." In 2006, she served as Grand Marshal of the 49th German American Steuben Parade.
