Carol Jean Vorderman MBE RAFVR(T) (born 24 December 1960) is a British media personality known for co-hosting the game show Countdown for 26 years from 1982 until 2008. She co-hosted Countdown with Des Lynam, Richard Whiteley until his death in 2005, and most recently with Des O'Connor before leaving the show in 2008, when she was replaced by Rachel Riley.
While on Countdown, Vorderman presented other programs including Better Homes and The Pride of Britain Awards for ITV, and guest hosted shows such as Have I Got News for You, The Sunday Night Project, and Lorraine. She also presented ITV's Loose Women from 2011 until 2014.
