Catarina Furtado (born August 25, 1972) is a Portuguese television presenter, actress, and UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador. She was born in Lisbon and is the daughter of RTP journalist Joaquim Furtado. Her television career began in the early 1990s, working for SIC and RTP networks, as well as Rádio Comercial and RDP Antena 3 radio stations.
As a child, Catarina had a non-speaking role in the film Non, ou a Vã Glória de Mandar directed by Manoel de Oliveira. She later starred in films including Killing Time, Fatima, Anjo da Guarda, and Pesadelo cor-de-rosa. Her first major success was as presenter of the TV show Top + on RTP, a program featuring popular music videos and the national weekly record chart. She also hosted an MTV Portugal program on SIC before Portuguese MTV was officially founded, and worked on shows such as Treasure Hunt on SIC, filmed in various small towns in Portugal.
