Christy Nicole Turlington Burns (born January 2, 1969) is an American supermodel. She first represented Calvin Klein's Eternity campaign in 1989 and again in 2014, and also represents Maybelline. Turlington was named one of Glamour's Women of the Year in 2013 and one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in 2014. She gained fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a top designer favorite, and along with Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista, was known as part of the "Trinity" for their power and fame.
In 2010, Turlington founded Every Mother Counts, a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother. The organization raises funds and supports maternal health programs worldwide. It was established after Turlington completed the documentary No Woman, No Cry, about pregnant women and caregivers in Tanzania, Bangladesh, Guatemala, and the United States. In 2013, she directed the documentary Every Mile, Every Mother, which highlights the challenges of distance in accessing quality maternal care through long-distance running events.
