Damaris Lewis (born October 10, 1990) is an American model of West Indian descent from St. Kitts. She appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues of 2009, 2010, and 2011. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, she studied dance at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Lewis was discovered while performing with Restoration Dance Theater and signed with Elite Model Management in her second year of high school.
Lewis has appeared in campaigns for Black/Up, Clarins, MAC Cosmetics, L'Oréal, and Yves Saint Laurent. Her editorial work includes Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Essence, French Marie Claire, Self, Cosmopolitan, and GQ. She appeared briefly in the 2011 film Limitless. Lewis was selected as muse and dancer by musician Prince for his tours from 2012 until his passing in 2016, performing at venues such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, SXSW, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
She launched the blog Heels to Hoops in 2012, combining her interests in basketball and fashion. Lewis starred in the 2013 NBA All-Star Game promo and co-hosted NBA Style for TNT and NBA TV for three years. In 2016, she co-hosted ESPN's City Slam Dunk Competition. She currently runs Golden Lenses Photo, a travel and photography blog.
Since 2009, Lewis has volunteered with organizations including Project Sunshine, The Garden of Dreams, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. She has chaired annual proms for children in the tri-state area since 2014 and was inducted into the Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame. Her work focuses on inspiring youth from similar backgrounds to achieve their potential.
