Deepika Padukone, born on 5 January 1986, is an Indian film actress and one of the highest-paid actresses globally. She has received several awards, including three Filmfare Awards, and is listed among the nation's most popular and attractive personalities. The daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone, she was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. She played badminton at the national level as a teenager before transitioning to fashion modeling and making her acting debut in 2006 with the Kannada film Aishwarya. Her first Bollywood film was Om Shanti Om (2007), for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Padukone gained recognition for roles in Love Aaj Kal (2009) and Lafangey Parindey (2010), though some of her performances received negative reviews. The 2012 film Cocktail marked a career turning point, earning her Best Actress nominations.
