Freema Agyeman (born 20 March 1979) is a British actress known for playing Martha Jones in the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood. After leaving Doctor Who, she appeared in the BBC programme Little Dorrit and starred as Alesha Phillips in the crime drama Law & Order: UK from 2009 to 2012.
In 2013, Agyeman made her US television debut on The CW's teen drama The Carrie Diaries as Larissa Loughlin. Her other TV roles include appearances in Old Jack's Boat, Silent Witness, Survivors, and the Netflix drama Sense8. She also played Penny in the 2015 film North v South.
