Jewel Kilcher (born May 23, 1974) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, actress, author, and poet. She has received four Grammy Award nominations and sold over 30 million albums worldwide as of 2008. Her debut album, Pieces of You, released on February 28, 1995, became one of the best-selling debut albums, going 12 times platinum. The singles "Who Will Save Your Soul," "You Were Meant for Me," and "Foolish Games" reached high positions on the Billboard Hot 100 and year-end charts.
Jewel released her first country album, Perfectly Clear, in 2008, which debuted atop Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and included singles such as "Stronger Woman," "I Do," and "'Til It Feels Like Cheating." Her first independent album, Lullaby, was released in May 2009. She co-hosted and judged the songwriting competition Platinum Hit in 2011 and served as a judge on the fourth season of The Sing-Off in 2013. Jewel has a lyric soprano vocal range, and her songs are represented by Downtown Music Publishing.
