Joanna Noëlle Blagden "JoJo" Levesque (born December 20, 1990) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was raised in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and gained attention after competing on America's Most Talented Kids in 2003. Her debut album, JoJo, was released in June 2004. The lead single, "Leave (Get Out)", reached number one on the Billboard Pop songs chart, making her the youngest solo artist to achieve a number-one single in the United States at thirteen years old. The song peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold by the RIAA. The album has sold over four million copies worldwide.
JoJo's second album, The High Road, was released in October 2006. Its lead single, "Too Little Too Late", reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum in March 2007. The album has sold over three million copies worldwide. She independently released two mixtapes, Can't Take That Away from Me (2010) and Agápē (2012), and two EPs, LoveJo (2014) and LoveJo2 (2015), after signing with Atlantic Records in 2014. On August 21, 2015, she released the triple single extended play III. As of November 2013, JoJo sold more than 7 million albums worldwide and over 2.1 million albums plus 4 million digital downloads in the United States. She has also acted in television series such as The Bernie Mac Show (2002), American Dreams (2004), and Romeo! (2006), and appeared in films including Aquamarine and RV (both 2006) and the Lifetime film True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet (2008).
