Julia Klöckner (born December 16, 1972, in Bad Kreuznach) is a German politician (CDU). Since 2010, she has been chairwoman of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate and since 2011 CDU parliamentary group leader in the state parliament.
From 2002 to 2011, she was a member of the German Bundestag and from 2009 to 2011 parliamentary state secretary in the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. Since 2010, she has been a member of the CDU federal executive committee and since 2012 deputy federal chairwoman of the CDU. Klöckner was the lead candidate for her party in the Rhineland-Palatinate state elections in 2011 and 2016.
