Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus (born January 13, 1961) is an American actress, comedian, and producer known for her work in television comedy. She appeared on Saturday Night Live from 1982 to 1985 and gained prominence with her role as Elaine Benes on Seinfeld from 1989 to 1998. She also starred in The New Adventures of Old Christine (2006–2010) and Veep (2012–present).
Her film roles include Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989), Deconstructing Harry (1997), and Enough Said (2013). She voiced characters in animated films such as A Bug's Life (1998) and Planes (2013). Louis-Dreyfus has won seven Emmy Awards among 21 nominations, a Golden Globe, six Screen Actors Guild Awards, five American Comedy Awards, and two Critics' Choice Television Awards. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010, was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2014, and was named one of Time's 100 most influential people in 2016.
