Kate Ryan (born July 22, 1980, in Tessenderlo; real name Katrien Verbeeck) is a Belgian singer who has been active in the music industry since 2001. Her songs are mainly in the dance genre.
She is particularly successful in Belgium, with about nine top-10 singles out of fourteen released there, including two number-one singles, one of which was the Belgian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. She has also received five music certifications. Additionally, she has commercial success in Eastern Europe (Lithuania, Bulgaria, Estonia), Scandinavia (mainly Sweden), Central Europe (Poland, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia), and Spain.
