Kelendria Trene "Kelly" Rowland (born February 11, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. She rose to fame in the late 1990s as a member of Destiny's Child, one of the world's best-selling girl groups. During their hiatus, Rowland released her debut solo album Simply Deep (2002), which sold 2.5 million copies worldwide and included the number-one single "Dilemma" with Nelly and the international top-ten hit "Stole". She also acted in television sitcoms and films such as Freddy vs. Jason (2003) and The Seat Filler (2005).
After Destiny's Child disbanded in 2005, Rowland released her second album Ms. Kelly (2007), featuring hits like "Like This" and "Work". In 2009, she hosted the first season of The Fashion Show and featured on David Guetta's number-one dance hit "When Love Takes Over". Her third album, Here I Am (2011), included the international top-ten hit "Commander" and US R&B/Hip-Hop number-one "Motivation". She served as a judge on The X Factor UK (2011) and The X Factor USA (2013). Her fourth album, Talk a Good Game (2013), returned to R&B and received positive reviews.
Rowland has sold over 27 million records as a solo artist and 60 million with Destiny's Child. She has won four Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, and two Soul Train Music Awards. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with Destiny's Child and has been honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and Essence. In 2014, Fuse ranked her number 20 on their "100 Most Award-Winning Artists" list. She currently hosts BET's Chasing Destiny with Frank Gatson Jr., where they formed the girl group June's Diary.
