Lauren Katherine Tell (née Conrad; born February 1, 1986) is an American television personality, fashion designer, and author. She was born and raised in Laguna Beach, California, and attended Laguna Beach High School. In September 2004, at age 18, she gained recognition after being cast in the reality television series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, which documented her life and those of her friends.
After moving to Los Angeles in May 2006 to pursue a fashion career, Conrad starred in the spin-off series The Hills, which followed her personal and professional life alongside friends Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, and Whitney Port. During the series, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and worked with Teen Vogue and Kelly Cutrone's PR firm People's Revolution. A feud between Conrad, Montag, and Montag's boyfriend Spencer Pratt became a central storyline. Conrad left The Hills in May 2009 after five seasons and was replaced by Kristin Cavallari. She filmed an alternate ending for the series finale in July 2010, which aired in August 2013. Conrad launched the fashion lines LC Lauren Conrad (2009) and Paper Crown (2011), released the L.A. Candy book trilogy (2010), and The Fame Game series (2012). She married William Tell in September 2014.
