The Conjuring 2 is a 2016 American horror film directed by James Wan and written by Carey Hayes, Chad Hayes, Wan, and David Leslie Johnson. It is the sequel to the 2013 film The Conjuring and the second installment in The Conjuring film series. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The film follows the Warrens as they travel to Britain in 1977 to assist the Hodgson family, who are experiencing poltergeist activity in their Enfield council house, known as the Enfield Poltergeist.
The Conjuring 2 was released in North America on June 10, 2016. It received generally positive reviews from critics and grossed over $320 million worldwide. A spin-off film titled The Nun is in development, with Wan and Safran producing.
