Nicole Camille Richie (born Nicole Camille Escovedo; September 21, 1981) is an American fashion designer, author, actress, and television personality. She gained fame for her role in the Fox reality series The Simple Life, which aired for five seasons and premiered with 13 million viewers. During the show's run, Richie attracted significant media attention and was frequently featured in tabloids.
Richie is married to musician Joel Madden, with whom she has two children, Harlow and Sparrow. Together, they founded The Richie Madden Children's Foundation in 2010. Richie also served as a mentor on NBC's Fashion Star and starred in the VH1 reality show Candidly Nicole, which premiered in July 2014 and was renewed for a second season in July 2015.
