Paula Prentiss (born March 4, 1938, in San Antonio, legal name Paula Ragusa) is an American actress. She was discovered while studying at Northwestern University and signed a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1958. From 1960, she appeared with Jim Hutton in several screwball comedies. Together with her husband Richard Benjamin, she starred in the TV series He & She, for which she was nominated for an Emmy. Prentiss and Benjamin have been married since 1961.
She appeared in the parody Catch-22 (1970) and later acted more frequently in serious films as well as comedies. In the 1980s, her roles became smaller. After a long break starting in 1996, she returned to the cinema in 2005 with Hard Four.
