Petra Schmidt-Schaller (born August 28, 1980, in Magdeburg) is a German actress known for her roles in film and television. She comes from a family of actors and has worked freelance since 2006 after completing her acting studies and initial theater work.
She received the Bavarian Film Award for Best Young Actress for her role in the 2007 film Ein fliehendes Pferd. In 2011, she gained attention with the lead role in the TV film Das geteilte Glück, appeared in the cinema success Almanya – Willkommen in Deutschland, and starred in Marcus H. Rosenmüller's film Sommer in Orange. From 2013 to 2015, she played investigator Katharina Lorenz in six Tatort episodes for NDR.
