Rene Marie Russo (born February 17, 1954) is an American actress, producer, and former model. She began her career in the 1970s as a fashion model, appearing on the covers of magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan, before transitioning to acting in the late 1980s.
Russo made her film debut in the 1989 comedy Major League and starred in several 1990s box office hits, including Lethal Weapon 3 (1992), In the Line of Fire (1993), Outbreak (1995), Get Shorty (1995), Tin Cup (1996), Ransom (1996), Lethal Weapon 4 (1998), and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). After a break following the 2005 comedy Yours, Mine and Ours, she appeared as Frigga in Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). In 2014, she co-starred in Nightcrawler, earning a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and appeared in The Intern in 2015.
