Rie Rasmussen, born on February 14, 1976, in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a model, actress, director, and screenwriter based in the USA. She grew up in Denmark with her nine siblings and spent her youth in Southern California. Rasmussen is signed with the New York agency 1 Management and has been a model for Victoria’s Secret since her appearance in the 2001 Victoria's Secret Lingerie Fashion Show. She was also the face of a Gucci advertising campaign.
In 2002, Rasmussen became known for her role as Veronica in Brian De Palma's erotic thriller "Femme Fatale," alongside Rebecca Romijn and Antonio Banderas. She attended a film school in Huntington Beach, California, in 1998 aiming to become a director. Her short film "Thinning the Herd," produced by Luc Besson, was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. In 2005, she played the lead role in Besson's film "Angel-A." In 2008, she wrote, directed, and starred in the film "Human Zoo," which premiered on February 5, 2009, at the Berlinale. Besides her film career, Rasmussen also paints and photographs.
