Ronda Jean Rousey (born February 1, 1987) is an American mixed martial artist, judoka, and actress. She was the first U.S. woman to earn an Olympic medal in judo, winning bronze at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Rousey is the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion and the last Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion. She won twelve consecutive MMA fights, including six in the UFC, before her first loss to Holly Holm. Eleven of those wins were in the first round, nine by armbar submission. She trains under Gokor Chivichyan of Hayastan MMA Academy and Edmond Tarverdyan of Glendale Fighting Club. In 2015, she was the third most searched person on Google.
As of March 2016, Rousey was ranked #2 female bantamweight fighter by the UFC and #3 by Sherdog. Sherdog and Fight Matrix listed her as the #4 pound-for-pound Women's MMA fighter. In May 2015, two magazines ranked her as the most dominant active athlete. In September 2015, she was voted Best Female Athlete Ever in an ESPN online poll and claimed to be the UFC's highest-paid fighter. Her first feature film role was in The Expendables 3 (2014), followed by roles in Furious 7 and Entourage in 2015.
