Saoirse Una Ronan (born 12 April 1994) is an Irish and American actress. She has received a Golden Globe Award, two Academy Award nominations, and four British Academy Film Award nominations. In 2016, she was included in Forbes's "30 Under 30" list and Time's "Next Generation Leaders" list.
Ronan began her acting career in the Irish medical drama series The Clinic in 2003 and made her film debut in I Could Never Be Your Woman in 2007. Her breakthrough role was in Atonement (2007), earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She later appeared in The Lovely Bones (2009), Hanna (2011), Byzantium (2012), and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). She received critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for Brooklyn (2015) and won a Golden Globe for Best Actress for Lady Bird (2017). Ronan has also hosted Saturday Night Live and made her Broadway debut in 2016 in a revival of The Crucible as Abigail Williams.
