Sarah Buxton (born July 3, 1980, in Lawrence, Kansas) is an American country singer. During her studies at Belmont University in Nashville, she founded the southern rock band Stoik Oak, with which she performed for three years. Initially, she was a background singer for Kenny Rogers, John Corbett, and Cowboy Troy, with whom she also recorded a single in 2005. She then focused on a solo career and signed a record deal with Lyric Street.
Her solo debut single "Innocence" reached number 31 on the country charts. In the following years, she released several other top-40 country singles. Keith Urban recorded her song "Stupid Boy" in 2007, which became a hit and earned a Grammy Award. Her first album, titled "Sarah Buxton," was released in 2010, reaching number 12 on the country charts and entering the official Billboard 200.
