Sarah Jessica Parker (born March 25, 1965) is an American actress, producer, and designer known for her leading role as Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO series Sex and the City (1998–2004). She won two Emmy Awards for the show, including Outstanding Comedy Series as a producer in 2001 and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2004. She also received four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and three Screen Actors Guild Awards for this role. Parker reprised the character in the films Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010).
Parker made her Broadway debut at age 11 in the 1976 revival of The Innocents and starred in the title role of Annie in 1979. She appeared in the films Footloose (1984), Firstborn (1984), L.A. Story (1991), Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Ed Wood (1994), The First Wives Club (1996), The Family Stone (2005), and Failure to Launch (2006). In 2012, she returned to television in a recurring role on Glee and was set to lead the HBO series Divorce (2016).
