Selma Blair (born Selma Blair Beitner; June 23, 1972) is an American film, television, and theater actress. She began her professional acting career in 1995, initially playing many supporting roles before gaining recognition for her leading role in the film noir Brown's Requiem in 1998.
Blair had a breakthrough in 1999 with leading roles in the teen sitcom Zoe and the drama Cruel Intentions. She starred in films such as Down to You (2000), Legally Blonde (2001), and The Sweetest Thing (2002). She gained international fame portraying Liz Sherman in Hellboy (2004) and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008). Other notable films include The Fog (2005), Purple Violets (2007), The Poker House (2008), Columbus Circle (2012), and Mothers and Daughters (2016). Blair also starred in the American remake of Kath & Kim (2008–2009) and the sitcom Anger Management (2012–2014). In 2016, she portrayed Kris Kardashian in the first season of American Crime Story. In 2011, she narrated the Holocaust-related audio documentary The Diary of Anne Frank.
