Shirley MacLaine (born April 24, 1934) is an American film, television, and theater actress, singer, dancer, activist, and author. She won an Academy Award and received the 40th AFI Life Achievement Award in 2012 and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2013 for her lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts.
MacLaine is known for her New Age beliefs, including spirituality and reincarnation. She has written autobiographical works that describe these beliefs, her world travels, and her Hollywood career.
