Somi, whose full name is Ennik Somi Douma, was born on March 9, 2001, in Ontario, Canada. She gained fame by winning first place on the reality show Produce 101 in 2016 and debuted as the center of the girl group I.O.I.
After the group's disbandment, Somi pursued a solo career and signed with The Black Label, a subsidiary of YG Entertainment. She debuted as a solo artist in 2019 with the single "Birthday," establishing herself in the K-pop scene.
