Geordie Shore is a British reality television series broadcast on MTV. It is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and was first aired on 24 May 2011. The show is the British version of the American series Jersey Shore.
"Geordie" is the regional nickname and dialect for people from the Tyneside area in north-east England, closely linked to Newcastle and its surroundings where the show is set. The cast includes members from various parts of North East England.
