Sydney Joy Schertenleib, born on January 30, 2007, in Zurich, is a Swiss-American footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for FC Barcelona and the Swiss national team. She began her career at age 8 with FC Wädenswil and joined the FC Zurich youth academy at age 10. In May 2022, she won the Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup with FC Zurich's U19 team. She debuted in the Swiss Women's Super League in October 2022, scoring in her first match.
In 2023, Schertenleib transferred to Grasshopper Club Zurich, becoming a regular starter. She signed with FC Barcelona in 2024 and debuted for the first team, scoring her first goal in February 2025. She has represented Switzerland at various youth levels and made her senior national team debut in February 2024. By 2025, she had over 20 international caps and scored 2 goals.
