Therese Johaug, born on June 25, 1988, in Røros, is a Norwegian cross-country skier. She became the youngest world championship medalist in cross-country skiing by winning a bronze medal at the 2007 Nordic Ski World Championships. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, she won a gold medal in the relay.
At the 2011 Nordic Ski World Championships in Oslo, she repeated her relay success and won her first individual gold. In 2013 at the Val di Fiemme World Championships, she won gold in the 10-kilometer freestyle ahead of Marit Bjørgen. In 2015 at the Falun World Championships, she became world champion in the skiathlon, the 30-kilometer classical race, and again with the relay. Johaug won the overall World Cup in the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons. On October 13, 2016, it was announced that she tested positive for the steroid clostebol during a doping control.
