Veronika Vařeková is a Czech model from Olomouc who moved to New York City at 19 to attend the Parsons School of Design. She was signed by Next Models upon arriving in Manhattan, which launched her career with covers for Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She has worked with photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier and Peter Lindbergh and appeared in campaigns for brands including Gap, Chanel, Guess, Nivea, Escada, Chopard, Pantene, Ungaro, Patek Philippe, Hublot, and Victoria's Secret. Veronica has also appeared on television programs like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
In 2004, she married Czech Canadian ice-hockey player Petr Nedvěd, and they separated in 2006. In 2008, Veronica climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, where she met the African Wildlife Foundation team and developed a passion for wildlife. She was named a Goodwill Ambassador to the African Wildlife Foundation in October 2009 to support conservation and community initiatives. Veronica volunteers at the SZPD Orphanage in Olomouc and resides in New York City, spending time in Prague to be near family and friends.
