Alia Bhatt (born 15 March 1993) is a British film actress and singer who works in Bollywood. She is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Bhatt made her acting debut as a child artist in the 1999 thriller Sangharsh and played her first leading role in Karan Johar's Student of the Year (2012), earning a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
She starred as the female lead in several commercially successful films, including 2 States (2014), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Kapoor & Sons (2016), Dear Zindagi (2016), and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). Bhatt won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for Highway (2014) and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Udta Punjab (2016). Besides acting, she has launched a women’s clothing line, sung six of her film songs, and participates in stage shows and concert tours.
