Ameriie Mi Marie Rogers, known professionally as Amerie (currently Ameriie), is an American recording artist, record producer, and actress. She debuted in 2002 with the album All I Have. In 2003, she helped develop and hosted the BET series The Center. The series ended after she took a starring role in the 2004 film First Daughter.
Amerie released her second album, Touch, in 2005, which included the hit "1 Thing" and earned her two Grammy nominations. Her third album, Because I Love It, was released internationally in 2007 but not in North America, after which she was dropped from Columbia Records. Her fourth album, In Love & War, came out in 2009 on Island Def Jam. On May 20, 2016, Ameriie independently released the EP Drive and announced plans to continue releasing music that year.
