Assumpta Serna (born 16 September 1957) is a Spanish actress known for her role as Sor Juana in "I, the Worst of All" (1990) and as guerrilla commander Teresa Moreno in the ITV "Richard Sharpe" series. She co-starred with Antonio Banderas in "Matador" (1986) and appeared in films including "Wild Orchid" (1990), "Chain of Desire" (1992), "Nostradamus" (1994), "The Shooter" (1995), "The Craft" (1996), and "Kiss & Tell" (1997).
Born María Asunción Rodés Serna in Barcelona, Spain, she married Scott Cleverdon, her co-star in "Sharpe's Company." She appeared in "Falcon Crest," the 2003 ITV drama "Henry VIII" as Catherine of Aragon, the Spanish TV series "Aquí no hay quien viva," and played Vannozza dei Cattanei in the 2011 drama "Borgia." Serna has written two books on acting, teaches various acting courses, and served as president of AISGE, Spain's main actors' union. She is fluent in English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, and Spanish.
