Belinda Peregrín Schüll, known as Belinda, is a Spanish-born Mexican singer-songwriter born on 15 August 1989. She began her career as a child actor in 2000, starring in the children's telenovela ¡Amigos X Siempre!, and later appeared in Aventuras en el Tiempo (2001) and Cómplices al Rescate. Her debut album, Belinda (2003), sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide and included hits such as "Lo Siento", "Ángel", "Boba Niña Nice", and "Vivir". Her second album, Utopía (2006), earned two Latin Grammy nominations, was certified platinum in Mexico, and featured top ten singles like "Ni Freud Ni Tu Mamá", "Bella Traición", and "Luz Sin Gravedad".
Belinda appeared in the Disney Channel Original Movie The Cheetah Girls 2 (2006) and provided voice roles in The Tale of Despereaux (2008) and Las Aventuras de Tadeo Jones (2012). After returning to Mexican television with Camaleones (2009) and Mujeres asesinas 3 (2010), she released the album Carpe Diem, which included the single "Egoísta". Her fourth album, Catarsis, debuted at number one on the Mexican chart and featured the singles "En El Amor Hay Que Perdonar" and "En La Obscuridad". She is currently filming the movie Baywatch alongside Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson. Belinda has sold over 2 million albums in the US and 16 million worldwide, making her the third best-selling female Mexican artist. Publications like Billboard and Daily Mail have called her the "Princess of Latin Pop".
