Bridgit Claire Mendler (born December 18, 1992) is an American actress, singer, and songwriter. She began her career in 2004 with the animated Indian film The Legend of Buddha and later appeared in the films Alice Upside Down (2007), The Clique (2008), and Labor Pains (2009). In 2009, Mendler signed with Disney Channel and played Juliet van Heusen on Wizards of Waverly Place. She then starred as Teddy Duncan on Good Luck Charlie from 2010 to 2014 and appeared in the Disney Channel Original Movie Lemonade Mouth in 2011. Mendler also portrayed Candace in Undateable (2015–16) and Ashley Willerman in Nashville (2017).
Mendler was featured on two singles from the Lemonade Mouth soundtrack, both charting on the US Billboard Hot 100. In 2012, she released her debut studio album Hello My Name Is..., which peaked at number 30 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 200,000 copies. The lead single "Ready or Not" was certified Gold and Platinum in various countries, while the follow-up single "Hurricane" (2013) was less successful. From 2010 to 2012, Mendler served as an ambassador for First Book and Give With Target, campaigns supporting reading initiatives and school reform in the United States.
