Cailee Spaeny, born on July 24, 1998, in Knoxville, Tennessee, and raised in Springfield, Missouri, is an American actress and singer. She began performing in local theater and amusement park shows, left school at age 13 to pursue acting full-time, and released her debut song "Fallin" in 2016.
Her breakthrough year was 2018, with roles in Pacific Rim: Uprising, Bad Times at the El Royale, On the Basis of Sex, and Vice. In 2023, she played the title role in Sofia Coppola's biopic Priscilla, winning the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival and earning a Golden Globe nomination. In 2024, she appeared in Alex Garland's Civil War and Fede Álvarez's Alien: Romulus. Kirsten Dunst has named Spaeny as a major inspiration, and she continues to embrace her Missouri roots, launching statewide talent shows with singer Chappell Roan.
