English singer and songwriter Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding (pronounced /ˈɡoʊldɪŋ/; born 30 December 1986) entered the music scene after collaborating with producers Starsmith and Frankmusik. She was subsequently discovered by Jamie Lillywhite, who took on the roles of her manager and A&R representative. After inking a deal with Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding launched her first extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, later that same year.

A repackaged version titled Halcyon Days was released on August 23, 2013, featuring new singles like "Burn," which marked her first single to reach number one in the UK. At the Brit Awards held in 2014, she won British Female Solo Artist award. On November 6, 2015, Goulding unveiled her third studio album named Delirium along with its lead single "On My Mind." In December of that year, she received her initial Grammy nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit "Love Me like You Do."
