The twelfth cycle of America's Next Top Model premiered on March 4, 2009, as the sixth season to air on The CW network. The cycle's catchphrase was "Get In The Fold," and its promotional song was Lady Gaga's "The Fame." Prizes included a modeling contract with Elite Model Management, a fashion spread and cover in Seventeen, and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl cosmetics.
The first half of the cycle took place in New York City, returning from Los Angeles the previous season. The international destination was São Paulo, Brazil, marking the series' first visit to South America. The number of contestants was reduced to 13, the first time since cycle 9. This was the last cycle featuring Paulina Porizkova as a judge. The winner was 20-year-old Teyona Anderson from Woodstown, New Jersey. The season averaged 4.35 million viewers per episode.
