Ivete Maria Dias de Sangalo Cady is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, occasional actress, and television show host. She has released six albums with Banda Eva and seven solo albums. Sangalo is recognized for her powerful voice, charisma, and live performances. Her music is also popular in Portugal.
She began singing and playing guitar at school events as a child. Her debut show took place in Ondina Neighborhood, Salvador, in August 1992, where she won the Dorival Caymmi trophy, regarded as the Grammy of Bahia music. As part of Banda Eva, she recorded six CDs and sold over four million copies.
