Gülben Ergen, born August 25, 1972, in Kadıköy, Istanbul, Turkey, is a Turkish singer and occasional actress. She acted in films and television, notably as Melek in Dadı, the Turkish version of The Nanny. She was named Miss Cinema 1987 and later began her singing career. Ergen has released eight successful albums, with many of her songs reaching number one on the charts, including "Kim Ne Derse Desin," "Kanıma Dokunuyor," "Kurşuni," and others. She is known as the "Queen of Arabesque-pop music."
She married Mustafa Erdoğan, founder of the Fire of Anatolia dance group, on September 5, 2004. They have three children: a son, Atlas Erdoğan, born January 18, 2007, and twins Ares and Güney, born in 2009. Since marriage, she has sometimes used the name Gülben Ergen Erdoğan. She is active on Twitter, communicating daily with her fans.
