Inka Isabel Schneider was born on May 11, 1967, in Rüsselsheim, Germany. She studied social and economic communication at the Berlin University of the Arts. Schneider worked as an intern and copywriter at the agency Scholz & Friends in Hamburg, then as a freelance contributor for RIAS Berlin and trained as a radio editor at WDR in Cologne, where she later worked as an editor, reporter, and presenter.
From 1997 to 2001, Schneider co-hosted the ARD morning show with Peter Großmann and Sven Kuntze. She worked as an ARD correspondent in Washington, D.C. from 2001 to 2004. Since 2004, she has regularly hosted the regional magazine DAS! for Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) and, since late 2005, the magazine Zapp. Schneider is involved in training young journalists and conducts presentation and reporting seminars. She is a member of the quiz team on the SWR show Ich trage einen großen Namen. In 1996, she co-founded journalists.network, a network of young independent journalists, and initially served as chairperson.
