Jade Cerisa Lorraine Goody (5 June 1981 – 22 March 2009) was an English reality television personality who gained fame on the third series of Channel 4's Big Brother in 2002. Her appearance on the show led to her own television programs and product lines.
In January 2007, Goody participated in Celebrity Big Brother 5, where she was accused of racially bullying Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. After her eviction, she apologized publicly. In late 2007 and early 2008, polls showed she was very unpopular. In August 2008, she appeared on the Indian version of Big Brother, Bigg Boss, but left early upon learning she had cervical cancer. By February 2009, her cancer had metastasized, and she was terminally ill. Goody married fellow Celebrity Big Brother contestant Jack Tweed on 22 February 2009 and died on 22 March 2009 at age 27. Sky Living aired five tribute shows about her life between 2009 and 2012. The final episode of Big Brother on Channel 4 included a 15-minute tribute to her, and she appeared on the cover of the final edition of News of the World in July 2011.
