Jessica Ellen Cornish (born 27 March 1988), known as Jessie J, is an English singer and songwriter. She began her career at age 11 in the West End musical Whistle Down the Wind and studied at the BRIT School. Jessie J signed with Gut Records and Sony/ATV Music Publishing, writing for artists including Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus. After signing with Universal Republic, she gained prominence with her debut single "Do It Like a Dude" and the chart-topping "Price Tag". Her debut album Who You Are (2011) reached number two in the UK and produced six UK top ten singles, including "Domino," which also peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot 100. In 2012, she performed at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert and the London Olympic Games closing ceremony.
Her second album Alive (2013) reached the UK top 5 and included hits "Wild" and "It's My Party". The third album Sweet Talker (2014) featured the number-one UK single "Bang Bang" and reached number 10 on the US Billboard 200. By January 2015, Jessie J had sold over 20 million singles and 3 million albums worldwide. She is known for blending soul vocals with R&B, pop, electropop, and hip-hop influences. Jessie J has received awards including the 2011 Critics' Choice Brit Award and the BBC Sound of 2011. She has supported various charities and served as a coach on The Voice UK and The Voice Australia.
